Hudson Web Page Redesign

Hudson Web Page Redesign- Thurs. Staff Meeting

How did we get here?
We conducted  pilots of two top contenders of systems viewed as  “all in one” solutions for a teacher webpages and integration platforms.  These systems were the new eChalk and Canvas.  We also took a close look at a few other systems that offered a different sort of solution.

What were are priorities?
1.  The first of these priorities is ease of use.  We all felt strongly that whatever solution on which we ultimately land, it must not be overly time consuming.
2.  Secondly, we placed a high value on the integration with Google Apps for Education and specifically, Google Classroom.  Google Classroom has already been embraced in our system and the feedback from the survey that went out to all staff members suggests that integration with Google Classroom is a top priority.

What is our solution?
The solution we are recommending is “Schoolblocks”.  Schoolblocks offers a solution for school and teacher webpages.  We are only recommending the teacher webpage portion of the program which is called “Classblocks”.  We are very excited about the potential this solution will offer.  Classblocks is designed from ground up to integrate with Google Apps and Google Classroom.

How will we learn about it?
We will be offering extensive professional development near the end of this school year, throughout the summer, and into next year.  The initial setup of Classblocks will not be terribly complicated.  The biggest roadblock to successful implementation will likely be with teachers who have extensive content in eChalk.  They will need to save everything they want to continue to use in Google Drive or on their network drive for future use.

Please explore this video before our staff meeting and list any questions in the comments.
